Ms. Apples Crab Shack in Merritt Island

Okay first off let me just start saying bye you were going to be sleepy after you've eaten all this great food lol. That's a good thing this place is basically an event for me and my friends we love the drive down there it's about an hour from Orlando.You get to pick your own crab, lobster, shrimp or fish they cook it all right there they, season it up for you right there and you can bring any side dish you want or you can buy meal choice is yours. mrs. Apples herself does work at the restaurant and her staff is absolutely wonderful they work perfectly together to get everybody out in and. I recommend that you follow her Facebook page to always get the latest updates.

This place is AMAZING! Awesome service, great prices, delicious food, and the location is perfect. The garlic butter is just amazing, you have to try it. Ugh! So gooood! On another note very impressed on how the place is kept so clean, and how well the staff treats and attends all customers, kudos to the team. We shall see you again soon 😉

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time! Well I was surprised when I walked in. I was anticipating the smell of fresh garlic and butter when I walked in. Well.....It was wet and fishy!! I learned quickly that it was mostly fresh live crabs that you choose or pre made seafood plates that you can microwave right there or take home. You can have your seafood stemmed there or do it yourself. So with that being said I'm not sure how the crabs will be after I reheat them!!!

Not that bad, a little expensive they separate the cooking charge for any live crabs,they put too much seasonings on the crabs. If you are not in with microwave foods, then avoid this place, this is not a place for you to eat.... the other thing is the common bathroom, if you come a little late after lunch, this is a typical old school place bathrooms you may look and used somewhere else...

Nothing but the highest regards for this lady and her Crab Shack. She is one of the nicest people that I've ever known and I've known this lady for 20-something years. I am real glad to be back after being gone for so long and thrilled to death to see that she is still here creating the best damn garlic butter I've ever seen and tasted. Her garlic butter crabs are the way to go. One taste and you'll be coming back to stand in line.

Great Place! If you love Blue crabs this is heaven. Pick your own live crabs they cook them with old bay salt, you bring your beer , music, vinegar and any extras you like. You enjoy your crabs on their outside deck that overlooks the water. Fun place for the entire family. I love this place.

This is the first time I have been to a seafood shack that served only seafood boils and this is among the best I have tasted. The flavor is just right and not too salty. The crab and lobster taste sweet as they should and they are fun to crack open with the hammers provided at each table.

Great place for fresh crabs. You get to pick out your own crabs and they are live, so be careful. Seems a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.

The food was pretty good, but the experience is a big mess. You order your food, go to the microwave and warm it yourself. Take it outside to a picnic table put out some brown paper and beat the crab open with a mallet. Then you pick up the mess and throw it into a dumpster. They do have an outside sink to wash up in. An adventure at least!

Great place for some fresh boiled Blue Crab with some Garlic butter!

This is NOT a restaurant - just be aware of that going in. It is more of a seafood market where you can eat if you choose to. We went with family on a Saturday night. It was incredibly busy and that wouldn't have been so bad but there was little to no organization of the customers when it came to placing orders. No line, no real order and people were getting impatient and frustrated. The seating areas are nice and have brown paper to lay out on your tables as well as little hammers built into the tables to help you crack crab legs and such. We got the shrimp and they were good if you don't mind peeling your own reheated shrimp. If you're from New York and miss the salty, no-nonsense, take it or leave it kind of customer service, this place is for you. Desserts were tasty, as was the corn on the cob. Would definitely like this place more and be able to recommend it to others if there was some some of organization and a little more clarity on how things work.

Place is great! If you are looking for good seafood at an economic price. This is the place to be. You have to warm up your food, but it's cook fresh daily. I go there everytime I visit from NJ...price range from $10 - $20. Picture below was $13!!

I have been to this place and tried to buy live crabs. Finally at my 3rd time on Wednesday 10 am in the morning, I was finally able to get some fresh blue crabs. The previous two times were on Saturday, and the wait line was insanely long that I had to give up). Ms. Apples is doing their best to keep customers at social distancing. The store has been modified to one way in and one way out only. The maximum customers are 5 at a time in the store. They have closed all the back side bar dining area. Only the front big tables area are remain opened for customers to eat out. In conclusion, try not to visit this place on Saturday (they are closed on Sunday and Monday). The average wait time is at least one hour and many people said live blue crabs were out by 11am on Facebook.

This was am incredible amount of fun! I loved it! You pick your size bracket and then pick the ones you want yourself and can either take them home and cook them or let the amazing staff do that for you. We got them steamed, grabbed a couple beers from the bait shop next door and then sat at one of the tables outside to eat. Ms Apple even has mallets at every table for you to use. I can't wait to go back

This is one of the most vibrant and interesting places I have ever been to. The staff is awesome and friendly. Me and my love ones had a great time.

There's a wait but it's worth it! This place gets busy, you pick live blue crabs and fresh shrimp and they cook it to your liking. You can have blue crab whole, cleaned, season them mild or spicy. Shrimp is fresh/frozen can be with head or no head, with garlic and butter or plain. They also offer other items such as clams, lobster, snow crab ect. And some dishes precooked ready to heat. Honestly it's a little hectic but they serve delicious food! Definitely recommend!! A little tip you can bring your own side dishes and drinks and eat there.

This place was awesome! The crabs were fresh and feisty--we picked our own and while they cooked them, we picked up a 6-pack from the nearby bait and tackle shop, then ate everything at an outdoor picnic table. The seasoning used wasn't Old Bay, but we were fine with that because it was delicious!

Great friendly and clean environment. Crabs, shrimps, crawfish and so much more all under one roof. You can sit outside along the water or take it to go. The employees are very knowledgeable and patient being that it was my 1st time there, but my family frequent there regularly.

Well, someone needs to write a honest review: My first time here:1. Ordering process was a chaos. No assistance nor any suggestions on what to order or any options.2. Got crabs and lobster. Crabs were fresh but lobester tastes like rubber. One star for the fresh crabs3. There's no reason to come back. There are bunch of good places to go in Orlando area.

no crabs by 2pm, mean workers, the cashier used same gloves all day while taking money she gets your shrimp and food, its Covid 19! Charge you for every little thing if u use your credit card theres a fee, clean crabs, and if cook them these are all different fees/charges not professional ghetto & expensive

The best steam crabs I've ever had. You get to pick your own live blue crabs. It was a busy Saturday lunch time. We are definitely coming back, it was worth the drive from Daytona.

When ever in the Space Coast, the best place to get lobster, shrimp, clams & Indian River Lagoon crabs.Eat in or take home your choice.Must go to for the experience.

Crab legs and shrimp good. Sides potato and corn good. We order 8 trays for 10 people. More then enough food.

The best crab place ever me and my family love them

I always love coming to this place. The food is indescribable. It's so fresh, perfectly cooked and darn delicious. The only criticism I have is that the last time I went it was on a Saturday. They ran out of lobster and only had 4 employees working to serve what seemed to be hundreds of people. The employees looked to be scrambling and so far in the weeds it took us 1.5 hours to begin eating. So they should've anticipated this traffic and booked a few extra workers and ordered in more lobsters.

THE BEST PLACE TO EAT CRABS!!! I highly recommend going to eat here! You get to pick your own crabs and they also cook and clean them for you. I always get my crabs spicy, it has the best flavor. I also love their deviled crabs! Definitely recommend going here to eat! But they are closed on Sunday’s and Mondays so don’t waste gas going out there on those days! Follow them on Facebook to keep up with their schedule because they sometimes close unexpectedly as well.

Food was great. it's messy so don't dress up. But the food was great

It was not what I was expecting, first and foremost it a little pricey. That's not the issue, if I'm going to spent close to $50 in food then I expect to get drinks with it. I shouldn't have to purchase drink separately from my $50 plus purchase of sea food. Most of my family members I went there with enjoyed they food, maybe because I'm not a big sea food fan. I didn't like my food, looked sloppy and I had to do to much to enjoy my food. Ms. Apples don't offer drinks with they food and they also don't have cup to give people some ice since you have to bring your own drinks. Last but not least, that place is not kids friendly.

This place is great when it is crowded and the sales are good. But when the sales is slow, not only there is a small choice of crabs to choose from but what I have noticed the last two visits is that they would swap out the live ones I chose with some dead ones in the back. The reason I noticed it because, after being cooked, the claws/legs all fell off, even though they were all intact before that and they werent the same size that I chose.

We came down to Florida for the holidays and by far this is the best place ever. We went twice while we were down there. Once 3 days after getting to Florida and once before we left. The snow crab is the best I've ever had and by far the sweetest and the garlic stuff they put on top with butter omg just makes it. Love this place wish we had one in Chicago

The crabs were fresh&the best ever. The restrooms VERY clean. There is always somebody who cleans the tables so you will have a clean table. Very good. A.for sure.
